For Milan Design Week (21st – 26th April 2026), British designer Tom Dixon and his interior design agency, Design Research Studio (DRS), will stage a takeover of the Mulino Estate.
The historic complex will serve as a multi-brand destination, debuting Tom Dixon's AW26 collection alongside a series of exciting collaborations with Vispring, Coalesse, VitrA, Ege Carpets, Prolicht, Monument, and Avalon & London.
The exhibition and new collections will be presented within the context of MuaMua, a new hotel concept located on the historic Mulino Estate. Originally designed in 1929 by Chiodi and Gio Ponti for the Sordelli family, the property has been under the care of the Virga family since 1955, and the complex has been curated by Ludovica Virga as a multidisciplinary hub.
Vispring x Design Research Studio: Design Research Studio (DRS), the interior design agency of Tom Dixon, and British luxury bedmaker Vispring will debut an exciting new collection at the MuaMua Hotel. The partnership explores the intersection of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary design and features four new headboards and one bed designed by DRS. DRS has transformed each hotel room into an immersive environment where the bed serves as the central architectural element. The designs are inspired by Tom Dixon's signature series FAT, GROOVE, and WINGBACK. In addition to the permanent range, the exhibition will feature three bespoke showpieces created exclusively for Milan Design Week.
Coalesse and Viccarbe: are taking over the estate's Garage to present meaningful communal spaces that energize the brightest workplaces in an immersive experience where workspace meets disco. The showcase explores the blurred lines between professional and social spheres, featuring a curated installation of Coalesse, Viccarbe and Tom Dixon pieces, including the new MELT Nickle and FLARE lights. The layout is split to demonstrate a seamless transition: a focused office environment on one side and a vibrant lounge-to-party atmosphere on the other. Outside in the courtyard, the "Work Hard, Play Hard" theme continues with an outdoor collection featuring Viccarbe and Tom Dixon's GROOVE and JACK series, highlighting the ultimate versatility of modern design.
Materiality & Finishes: The interior scheme features Turkish bathware brand VitrA, who are providing the sanitaryware from their range including the Tom Dixon x VitrA Liquid collection. Danish sustainable textiles flooring brand Ege Carpets are providing the carpets, injecting colour and texture to the floors and walls to create a striking and dynamic environment.
The Silos: London’s Monument gallery and French curator Harold Mollet present Magazzino Archive at Salone del Mobile 2026. Set in a Gio Ponti-designed grain silo on the Mulino Estate, the exhibition explores Ponti’s forma finita philosophy. It features rare functional artworks (1970s–90s) by Tom Dixon, Pucci de Rossi, and Mark Brazier-Jones, highlighting the tension between balance and experimental decoration.
