Pullman Hotel, Bercy Paris
New Interior Project by Tom Dixon's Design Research Studio
“Hotels are places for holidays and for business , for relaxation and rest and refuelling, and it’s a business typology that for many years was relatively static and conservative but is now in rapid disruptive change – so this is always when design becomes interesting.” - Tom Dixon
We wanted to bring a sense of place, warmth and comfort to the public areas of the hotel and celebrate the new services offered by the Pullman team. Working within the boundaries of the existing architecture and interiors, we introduced bold sculptural interventions and rich upholstery to create varied and distinct environments.

The history of Bercy as the location for the old wine warehouses of Paris inspired us in the choice of materiality, using the timber and metal of the barrels and the cork and glass from the bottles. The challenge was to reorganise the space to bring a better flow and clarity to the lobby.
Our approach involved simplifying the base material palette to create a simple backdrop to our more sculptural interventions. For example, here's a massive cluster of a bespoke version of out new SPRING light in the (over) double height atrium, marking the entrance to the conference centre.
Check-In & Shop
Bespoke oak and marble desks, retail displays and shelving units come together to create a relaxed and dynamic check-in experience.
Café & Bar
Walking into the lobby, it's the guest's first impression and the hotel's main gathering spot. A social, semi-enclosed space for guests to come together for a quick bite or after work drinks.
Conversation Pit
An elevated cork conversation pit brings a relaxed breakout, coworking and meeting space to a previously underutilised corner.
Cabins
Medium sized meeting rooms inspired by the Pullman train cabin heritage. Perforated steel forms the enclosure on the exterior while upholstered acoustic panels, modular sofas and carpet form a soft, comfortable interior.
Cinema
The 18-seat private cinema is a new addition to the hotel offering space for film screenings and presentations against a lush velvet drapery and soft upholstery backdrop.
Pamper Bar & Spa
The Pamper Bar adds a new dimension to the lobby offering quick beauty treatments and private parties. It also leads guests into the new upper floor spa and pool. Featuring the Void Wall Lights and Fan Stools.
Spa & Pool
Guests are lead up the lobby via The Pamper Bar into the luxy pool and treatment rooms.
