We've combined soft furnishing and metallic lighting in the Mutliplex Lounge. You can get drinks at the Johnnie Walker VIP Lounge and complimentary Whisky mentoring sessions, hosted by Global Brand Ambassador Tom Jones. Head to the Hack Bar: A cafe created by Arabeschi di Latte with Bibendum Food Experience, serving cinema and bar classics with a twist.
And before you enter the Cinema make sure you hit the Corn Kiosk: a hack of the classic popcorn kiosk, turning popcorn into real dishes. Piles of corn are ready to be spiced up with fresh and dried condiments, from bacon to sage, from dried tomatoes to charcoal.
Look out for the specially hacked DELAKTIG bed sofa we made with Bemz.
Johnnie Walker Bar
People often ask us why we spend so much time and effort on our Milan exhibitions. The once quite dry furniture trade fair has now become the Glastonbury of the design world with nearly half a million people descending on Milan every year. They now expect to be entertained and to experience more than just the latest in interior furnishings. This year’s Multiplex gives us the platform to announce our many upcoming collaborations. One of those is the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Capsule Series.
We’ve designer a copper cage which houses the Blue Label bottle as well as an ice bucket, coaster and bottle cap.
“The parallels between Johnnie Walker Master Blender Jim Beveridge and a designer might seem tenuous but when you think of it in terms of taking excellent raw materials and using patience and experimentation to extract a product with real resonance, then you can start to see the similarities.
“I also believe it is important not to remain static - like the Striding Man logo – with all its historic references it still looks contemporary and represents progressing forward and looking to the future. The copper stills, the oak barrels, the supreme expertise needed to produce a classic product – this was all instrumental to my thinking.” – Tom Dixon
Head up to the Johnnie Walker bar in the Lounge at Multiplex, Milan for a closer look.
The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Capsule Series by Tom Dixon will be available to purchase from October 2017 in selected markets across Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa, making it the perfect, rare and luxurious gift to give to discerning whisky lovers during the festive season with an RRP from GBP £180.
Hacking IKEA with Bemz
The DELAKTIG bed sofa is a living platform that can be hacked for the ever changing needs of people. It's a collaborationwith IKEA, the largest furniture maker in the world – who do the heavy lifting and make, sell and distribute the platform around the world. Working with aluminium experts, Sapa, we've made a robust yet adaptable frame which allows us and others to have some fun with it.
One of our first hacks of the platform comes in the form of a hairy beast. Working with BEMZ we've pimped the DELAKTIG with long-haired sheepskin. See it first in the Multiplex Lounge.
The Hack Bar
A cafe serving cinema and bar classics with a twist. The twist is obtained trough an elegant and subtle food hacking process. Panettone is hacked to become a tower of sandwiches, water is ready to be customized with unusual fragrances, what is usually perceived as junk food is brought back to its natural origin, like liquorice that is served in branches. Drinkas are ready to be hacked with Antonella Bondi food fragrances. A cafe, with coffee from Cofficina and using industry leading La Marzocco, with a touch of nostalgia but that can be a statement for today and tomorrow. And of
The cinema kiosk will be hacked too. What is usually perceived as junk food is brought back to its natural origin, like liquorice that is served in branches. Popcorn are turned in real dishes. Piles of corn corn are ready to be spiced up with fresh and dried condiments, from bacon to sage, from dried tomatoes to charcoal.
