Eurolounge, a company created in 1996 for the mass production of Jack Light, billed as the sitting, stacking, sitting thing - is the first iteration of Tom Dixon's industrial ambitions.
“Many geometries were explored, but the six-sided constellation of the cube was the winner: just about simple enough to tool up, but complex enough to look like no other roto-moulding. It looked more like a Japanese concrete sea defence or a model of a molecule with a fat and jolly personality. So it was named Jack – the Sitting, Lighting, Stacking Thing.”
