DIXONARY: ‘Illuminations, revelations and post-rationalizations from a chaotic mind’

We embark on 24 Hours in Shanghai to coincide with Design Shanghai, the biggest design fair in Asia.

The event, entitled ‘DIXIONARY’ is a nod to Tom Dixon’s eponymous book, soon to be published in Mandarin, and celebrates the brand’s past, present and future.

DIXONARY is an exhilarating story of how Tom Dixon became a designer, of the ideas behind the products and the unorthodox thinking behind the brand.

“I found myself really enjoying making objects that had a function to them. People started buying them and that’s when I turned into a designer. We have an interior design and architectural studio called Design Research Studio which is where we experiment. I’d like to think that if we get our job right these things will last for many generations. It really feels like we’ve only just started our adventures and I’ve been really lucky that my hobbies turned into a career.” – Tom Dixon
