Winter Lights Illuminating Television Centre

Winter Lights Illuminating Television Centre

This Christmas we are helping illuminate Television Centre in west London with a festive light installation.

We’ve suspended 160 Etch pendants over Television Centre’s welcome lane, which was once the gateway for every visitor to the BBC in White City.

Commissioned by local art collective White Noise City, the festive lights are set to be switched on Thursday 1 December 2016, when the public will be able to pass beneath the work, which sits in a newly landscaped area off Wood Lane.

Eleven strings of lights, complete with 160 geodesic brass pendants, will be suspended between a pathway of bare-branched trees to theatrically illuminate the area.

Each pendant using intricately etched and patterned razor-thin brass sheets. The geodesic brass pendants were designed in our studio in Portobello Dock, close to Television Centre. These structures belong to our ETCH family of designs, which cast a complex web of shadows when illuminated.

The ETCH pendants are available now.
