Spin

An industrial-strength piece of table-top engineering designed to act as a kinetic centerpiece and produce infinite arrangements.

"Balanced as finely as a Calder mobile, in the first prototype the ball bearings were so smooth that the object spun so fast it cast off the lit candles and sprayed the assembled guests with wax. The object was reworked with a restrained motion and now serves its purpose handsomely." Tom Dixon

More about Spin

Designed with a series of counterbalanced arms that allow for different positions on all types of table top, Spin is an exercise in solidity, movement and adaptability. Able to hold tea lights and taper candles with equal elegance, the cast iron contraption takes cues from the heavyweight cantilever mechanisms of dockside cranes and the mechanical elegance of 1950s mobiles.

Made in Great Britain, Spin’s heavy cast iron structure is powder coated black. Engineered to operate with restrained motion, the system allows for measured mobility and an ever changing instantly recognizable silhouette.
