Goldfinger Project

Goldfinger Project

We’re pleased to announce a special project with Goldfinger Factory, the award-winning design, build and teaching platform and social enterprise.

This September, to celebrate London Design Festival, Goldfinger Factory will create an exclusive product line, Trellick, designed by Tom Dixon. The range, named after the building in which Goldfinger Factory is situated, will see a stunning convergence of art, design, craft and community.

Goldfinger's first fundraising goal is to raise £20,000. This will allow their expansion into two new sites in London, offer more long-term training programmes to young people and invest in the latest digital fabrication equipment as well as a full metal working workshop and spray booth to ensure their trainees become future-proof craftspeople.

Building on the classical woodworking skills ingrained in the enterprise, the Goldfinger Factory is launching its first Future Factory. Featuring computer-controlled machinery such as laser cutters and routers, metalworking and a bank of 3D printers which will allow us to create prototypes, have 360° control of the building process as well as providing their trainees with skills that will make them future-proof craftspeople

Coalescing traditional carpentry with cutting-edge fabrication techniques, the range will have both a positive environmental and social impact but equally an exceptional story as each piece will be made by artisans and artisans-in-the-making from our local community.

This exclusive range of furniture will be available at the Tom Dixon Showroom, Goldfinger Factory Showroom and via their crowdfunding campaign

Goldfinger Factory strives to inspire people through the creative upcycling of reclaimed materials into bespoke furniture and interiors as well as helping artisans and artisans-in-the-making become self-sustaining and in turn saving materials from landfill. These expert artisans make the showroom’s furniture in the workshop and pass on their knowledge to community members looking to pursue careers in craft.

Located on the ground floor of the iconic Trellick Tower in London's joint most deprived ward, Goldfinger Factory combines a furniture showroom and a café space on one floor and a woodworking workshop and teaching academy underneath.
