Plucked from the lounge of a 17th-century gentleman’s club and given a few 21st century tweaks, the Wingback Sofa is the latest addition to our most iconic furniture family.
Radically re-engineered to give it a bolder shape the two-seater sofa is fully upholstered and available in a range of Kvadrat fabrics.
A classic of English design reinvented for the modern age, our Wingback collection was originally designed for an exclusive London members club in 2007 to celebrate the traditions of British upholstered furniture. The making of the chair followed a centuries-old method of production that relied on the skills and expertise of craftsmen at each step.
Fast forward to 2015 where we refined and updated the collection, creating the pieces from a solid polyurethane frame, with extra lumbar support, and wrapping them in an elegant sculptural assembly of soft, svelte curves fitted with oak or statement copper legs.
At Milan Design Week 2015, we showed the newly redesigned range for the first time, taking over an abandoned theatre in central Milan and transforming the space into our very own experiential Cinema, furnished with the extraordinary collection, comprising Wingback Chair, Dining Chair and Ottoman.
