Tom Dixon teamed up with Veuve Clicquot to design La Comete light first launched at the Milan Salone del Mobile 2009, with an installation of 500 lights and a giveaway to the general public. La Comete is inspired by basic geometry making clever use of cardboard engineering from the Veuve Clicquot presentation box. The installation has been launched in cities across the globe with further launches for 2010. Through Design Research Studio, Tom designed a reinterpretation of a classic summer item, La Comete gazebo for the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup Polo. Made from recycled material, the gazebo’s offered VIP’s shelter, containing tables and lounge chairs to relax and watch the polo. The creative collaboration between Veuve Clicquot and Tom Dixon is set to continue with further products planned for 2010.
