Tom Dixon partnered with BlackBerry® for Milan Design Week 2011 to create Multiplex, a 400 sq.m pop-up viewing theatre, broadcasting centre, restaurant, shop and gallery. A clear departure from the traditional exhibition booths, where the convention is to show single prototypes, Multiplex presented six working environments all in full use. Multiplex showcased the new BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet alongside the 2011 Tom Dixon collection.
Visitors experienced a trail of sensations created through 6 hyper real environments. Each section explored ideas of luminosity and technology to include a Science Lab, Hotel Lobby and Viewing Theatre. A Broadcasting Centre updated information daily from all over the fair onto a giant wall of Microtiles.
