Today we've been busy in the Tom Dixon gelateria at MOST mixing up our own flavours and designing the new generation of gelato cone.

In the futuristic Anglo-Italian gelateria in the heart of MOST, Matteo and Melissa of the Carpigiani University of Gelato take us on an all-singing, all-dancing (and all-tasting) history of gelato. Taking us from the arrival of ice cream in Sicily (for which we have the Arabs to thank), to the 18th-century ice cream invasion of America, the master class also covers the invention of the cone to the recent milestone – the 2003 opening of the first ever university of gelato.

With an array of pens and pencils on each table, you are invited to design your own gelato cone and take part in ‘Designing the Gelato Cone Evolution’. Drawings of the ‘cones of the future’ are going up on the parlour walls throughout the week.

Visitors can create and try their own flavours using the new Carpigiani EVD machine, we made Fior di Latte a vanilla based gelato with fresh pistachios and peruvian chocolate. All workshops end with a hefty tasting session.

The Gelateria has been designed by our in house design team and features the new Stamp Lamp available to buy exclusively online across the UK and Europe.

Carpigiani Gelato University will be running workshops from MOST throughout the week, no booking required, places are on a first come first serve basis.
