With its tactlie grey exterior and white interior, Felt shade brings a sense of warmth to its surroundings and contrasts to the abundance of metal and plastic lights. Hung in multiples it has the dual functionality of illumination and sound absorbtion.

"This basic spindly tripod reminds me a lot of how clumsy a flamingo looks - there's something wrong, yet somehow it has its own charm and logic - one that doesn't come from any school of traditional beauty." Tom Dixon

Felt is an interesting material in that it is non-woven and has more in common with paper making than textile production. Its strength derives from teasing the fibres in random directions and applying heat and pressure. Formed using a technique rarely used in lighting and furniture design the shade is created by heat pressing a double layer of material which is then sculpted into shape
