Habitat commissioned Design Research Studio to design its new flagship store located in a unique grade II listed building at the Southern end of Regent Street. It was originally designed as a cinema.
Due to the historic nature of this site, one of the key challenges was to create an interior scheme and set of shop fixtures that would harmonise with the existing architectural heritage. The first stage of the project was to clear the site and restore it back to its original shell. This process alone revealed an impressive canvas for creating a unique Habitat retail environment.
The design utilises the height of the store to maximise the display of product, creating a feeling of abundance.
